As I mentioned earlier in a more theoretic post about the Triple Pivot concept, a triple pivot is the deployment of three defensive midfielders, who may be used to protect the defence in a deep block, to prevent the opposition space for counter-attacks, to keep possession by overloading in the first phase, the reasons are almost endless, the triple pivot can be very useful at times.
The pivoting system is extremely effective, as it helps break up a man marking system. With the Very Fluid settings I use, the players are constantly switching positions, which is extremely useful for recycling possession and keeping lots of passing options open. This is a basic line-up which should be most effective to create a pivoting system.
In this post, I am not going to tell you a whole lot of extra information. It’s basically just a brief post containing a download-link for the concepts described earlier. I can however promise a more spectacular evolution of the concept for next week.

Training is mostly on cohesion and attacking movement. OI’s are done by assistant or not at all.

So, I decided to give this tactic a go with the hope of it re-sparking my interest in FM15 and after one season I am a very happy man.
I wanted to challenge the tactic a little so I started with IK Start in Norway. Predicted to finish 12th at the start of the season but with with some quality young players (like Kristoffer Ajer) the challenge would be to see if I could exceed expectations in a division where very little separates the top teams.
Pre-season was solid if not spectacular but once the season got started the tactic kicked in nicely. We went 19 league and cup games without defeat and sat at the top of the league on goal difference. The second half of the season was a little more difficult and some player movements hurt us. We went into the final game of the season needing a win to clinch the title and choked, a draw allowed Molde to win the league by a single point. Draws were our biggest downfall as we finished the season with 17 wins, 2 defeats and 11 draws from 30 games scoring 54 goals and conceding only 20. Not bad given our pre-season predictions but losing the title on the last day hurt.
The beauty of the tactic is that it appears to be defensive in nature but it is actually pretty ferocious going forward and the three DMs do an amazing job of recycling possession. The CM bursts through the middle creating havoc for defenders with dribbles or well placed passes. The wing backs offer width and an extra dimension to attacks with runs at the opposing defence or crosses from deep.
Season two starts with the challenge of balancing the Europa League and domestic competitions as well as fending off the vultures circling around my strongest players.
I will try and post a further update at the end of the second season but for now let me just say thanks and well done, this is a great tactic and really helped me enjoy this save!

Any chance of seeing an FM16 version of this tactic? It’s an idea I’ve been toying with but can’t seem to get quite right, and dont have fm15 installed to be able to look at your settings
