I have to admit I am always open to new ways to exploit the game. Not because I like to cheat, but because I like to stretch the limits of the game and see what happens if I come up with something SI haven’t. It’s a challenge, nothing more and nothing less.

To this extent, I tend to try old exploits as well, see if they have actually managed to plug the gap, so to speak. More often than not, it turns out they aren’t properly plugged and this is one of those cases. What I did is nothing revolutionary, nothing special and nothing that hasn’t been done before, but since people may have forgotten it was once possible, allow me to show you what I did.

The object of the exploit is to spawn sure-fire top newgens. Not just players who are potentially good in three to four years, but instant impact, top-notch, as-good-as-you-can-get-in-the-game good, truly world class. Have a look at some of these lads.

First of all, this trick needs you to have not too many players in your reserves and youth squads, as well as an international fixture. Just find an international fixture first.

exploit005

Next, set up a friendly game against your reserves or U19’s at the same time.

exploit006

Because most of your squad is away, you will be forced to field computer generated players, the so-called “grayed out” players.

exploit007

As you can see, you can offer a contract to these grayed out players. After signing, they turn out as good as they look, including amazing potentials.

So I need to have a friendly against an International team first?

    strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 7:21 am

No, it has to be during an international fixture.

      Cornfed · January 18, 2014 at 8:00 am

So it doesn’t matter if you’ve got players in the fixture or not then?

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 8:02 am

That does matter, you need a fair few of players away on international duty. The AI will supplement all absent first team players with these gray players, who you can then sign.

      Cornfed · January 18, 2014 at 8:02 am

      Roger that.

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 8:03 am

One of my friends says you can also get the job done by sending all your players to the reserves squad and subsequently playing your own reserves.

      Cornfed · January 18, 2014 at 8:04 am

Nice, might try it that way since I’m playing lower league currently.

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 8:05 am

Yeah, I read up on your exploits in Bulgaria šŸ™‚ Good luck with Minyor šŸ™‚

      Cornfed · January 18, 2014 at 8:06 am

I’m actually playing 14 now with Bury Town.

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 8:12 am

That’ll teach me to actually check the dates on posts…

      Cornfed · January 18, 2014 at 8:13 am

No worries. Thinking about doing a India, or Singapore save sometime soon and getting the blog updates going again.

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 8:14 am

I’ve had some saves in those parts. India was good fun, especially if you pick one of the clubs that play in the massive stadium and you manage to fill that bad boy up.

      Cornfed · January 18, 2014 at 8:17 am

Was actually thinking Vasco SC in India, and no idea in Singapore.

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 8:20 am

Vasco are from Goa, not a big club, but cool name and sweet shirts. Singapore used to have Sporting Afrique, which just spawned African players. Good fun that. No idea who are currently active in Singapore.

      Cornfed · January 18, 2014 at 8:21 am

Yeah leaning towards India. I’ve considered India kind of a sleeping giant when it comes to football.

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 8:23 am

They are in real life, but FM is harder. It’s so hard to raise a nations profile and improve the quality of their newgen intake as a whole.

      Cornfed · January 18, 2014 at 8:24 am

Well hopefully the exploit will help that. Lol

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 8:25 am

From what I can gather, it’s sort of linked to the reputation of your club. You get the kind of players that are suited for the club you’re at. If you’re a top Indian side, you get top Indian players.

      Cornfed · January 18, 2014 at 8:26 am

      Ooooh ok

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 8:26 am

Knowing the quality of football in India, any newgen signed is an improvement over what you have šŸ˜‰

      Cornfed · January 18, 2014 at 8:29 am

      True that.

jimbo · January 18, 2014 at 1:12 pm

I tried this in Bulgaria as a First League side, but as I moved my young players from my under 19’s to my reserve side, they were instantly replaced by rubbish greyed out players.

    strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 1:19 pm

Try replacing the first teamers, send the first teamers to the reserves and see what happens. I get the best players in first team.

      jimbo · January 18, 2014 at 1:24 pm

Nope, didn’t work. The assistant manager just used the first team players i’d moved to the reserves. No new greyed out players at all.

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 1:25 pm

Even when you try during an international fixture with lots of first teamers absent?

      jimbo · January 18, 2014 at 1:27 pm

OK, worked out what the problem is… I didn’t realise your first team players needed to be away on international duty. This won’t happen for a team as low as Partizan Minsk.

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 1:28 pm

Any other ways to make sure a large part of the senior squad is unavailable or away?

      jimbo · January 18, 2014 at 1:44 pm

I tried setting up a match against my reserves, then moving all my first team players to the reserves and setting them as available for the reserves. The match played and I got a load of regens in my first team, but they’re all rubbish (Only one will ever be good enough for Belarus First League).

      strikerlessguido · January 18, 2014 at 1:51 pm

It’s related to club reputation. In a worst-case-scenario, you can sell them for some extra cash.

jimbo · January 18, 2014 at 1:56 pm

That’s very likely. I reloaded a save from before the match, and am carrying on as normal without all those regens. Will try again in a few seasons, when I’ll hopefully be in the highest league and have better reputation and players.

Darr · June 9, 2014 at 7:58 am

It doesn’t work on the latest version?

They Fixed The Exploit; Well Done! | Strikerless · March 6, 2014 at 7:32 am

[…] In a previous post, I described an exploit that allowed you to spawn top newgens. With the release of the new patch, I wanted to see if the exploit was still in place or if they had actually bothered to fix it. The method still works, the players that are produced are just crap nowadays. I couldn’t find it in the changelog for 14.3.0, but let me show you what I mean. […]
